Where do these prices come from?

We start from the world gold and silver price in rupees and add import duty and the usual local premium. 22 carat is worked out as 22/24 of the 24 carat price, and 18 carat as 18/24. How the gold rate is decided.

Is this the exact price at my jeweller?

No. It is a guide. Shops add making charges and 3% GST, and each shop sets its own rate.

How often is it updated?
